An AI-driven “1980s vibe” photo trend is drawing huge attention online, with users uploading current pictures and getting them transformed into retro-looking images. The craze has spread across celebrities, film stars, cricketers and everyday users—and has now reached Union ministers as well.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal posted an edited image on X under the caption “Vibing to the 80s trend,” showing a younger-looking version of himself in a coat suit and sunglasses. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also shared a similar retro-style image, adding to the trend’s momentum.

In another viral incident, a Noida resident named Akash said he ordered an Android device online for Rs 1,999 and paid in advance, but the parcel allegedly contained cow dung. His complaint is under cyber crime police investigation, while netizens have been warning against ordering from unfamiliar websites and paying upfront.

A separate debate erupted after a post about a mother using LinkedIn to seek a bride for her PhD-holding son living in the US. Some users called the approach honest and refreshing, while others criticised using a professional networking platform for matchmaking.

Meanwhile, an Instagram video shared by US-based Indian woman Ritu Sharma about strict rules around school vehicles—where traffic must stop when a school vehicle signals and violations can attract heavy fines—sparked discussion. Netizens argued over whether such enforcement could work in India, alongside other widely shared content including an interview of Austria-born cruise services entrepreneur Jurgen Bailom, who has lived in India since 2018 and spoke about discipline in spending and learning the Indian market.
