DMK president M.K. Stalin released a video responding to comments made in the Assembly by Chief Minister Vijay regarding arrests under MISA. In the video, Stalin spoke about the alleged hardships and torture he faced during his MISA detention.
Following Stalin’s video, TVK’s IT wing issued a statement in response, escalating the political exchange between the two sides.
The source material also cites an account that the attack on Stalin in the Madras Central Prison was linked to alleged personal vengeance by Vidyasagar, then Superintendent of Central Prisons, against former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. It says these details were discussed in the Justice Ismail Commission report.
The developments have triggered fresh debate online and in political circles over the MISA period and the narratives around Stalin’s detention.
