DMK leader M.K. Stalin has questioned Chief Minister Vijay, asking whether he had forgotten an earlier apology made after the election campaign. In a video message released in Chennai, Stalin said Vijay had once told him, “I’m sorry, sir,” for speaking harshly during campaigning.
Stalin also spoke about his experiences during the period when the DMK government was dismissed after criticism of the MISA law. He said he was arrested and faced severe mistreatment in custody, including being kept in unhygienic conditions and being assaulted, and claimed he still bears scars from those incidents.
In the same message, Stalin accused Vijay of spreading incorrect information about the Sarkaria Commission and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, and of making corruption allegations without proof. He argued that if there had been truth to such claims, action would have been taken.
Stalin further said the Assembly should focus on law and order, welfare schemes and protecting Tamil Nadu’s rights, instead of “unnecessary controversies.” He alleged that Vijay was using social media “reels” to distract from what he called ineffective governance, and urged the Chief Minister to maintain dignity in words and body language befitting the office.
