Chennai: Minister Nirmal Kumar on Friday said power shortages are being reported not only in Tamil Nadu but in many states as well.
In a statement, he said a disruption in wind power generation resulted in a power shortfall for two days.
He added that Tamil Nadu purchased the required electricity from the common distribution pool on Thursday evening to meet demand.
According to the minister, power supply has been restored to normal across all areas since Thursday evening, and adequate power has been procured to ensure continued supply.
