Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday said Russia is prepared to contribute to global energy and food security, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Delhi.
Putin said Russia is not threatening European countries and will not do so in the future. He added that Russia has no grounds for a confrontation with Europe.
Referring to the aftermath of World War II, he said the issues arising from it had been resolved. He also stressed that the BRICS grouping is not directed against any country.
Putin said Russia is ready to work with the entire world and wants to further strengthen bilateral ties with India. He praised India’s independent and sovereign policy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and noted that India is among the world’s fastest-growing economies.
He also remarked that the share of G7 countries in the global economy has been declining over the years.
