Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati has announced that her nephews Akash Anand and Ishan Anand will not be given any post or responsibility in the party, saying there is no room for family-based politics in the BSP.

In a statement shared on her social media, Mayawati said she has consistently followed the path of BSP founder Kanshi Ram and stood firmly against dynastic politics. She noted that her younger brother Anand Kumar has been assisting her in party work.

However, she said she cannot allow Anand Kumar’s sons to use that position to gain influence within the party. Mayawati declared that neither Akash nor Ishan would be assigned any small or big role going forward, calling it her final decision and vow.

She also said that even their future heirs would have no place in the party. If Anand Kumar needs support for party work, she suggested he could seek help from his daughter Deepika Anand, who is studying law, or assign the responsibility to a loyal party worker from the Dalit community.

Mayawati added that she would not tolerate giving priority to personal affection over the party.
