Demand for clarity on London visit
Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran on Saturday said Chief Minister Vijay should publicly disclose the outcomes of his London visit if it was undertaken to attract investors.
Speaking to reporters in Tirunelveli, Nainar questioned who the Chief Minister met during the trip and how many crores of rupees in investment commitments were obtained. He also sought clarity on who accompanied the CM and whether any government expenditure was involved.
Nainar said the public is closely watching developments in the Assembly and claimed that the announcement of by-elections within months of the recent Assembly election has triggered talk of “horse-trading”.
He further criticised the tone of exchanges in the Assembly and urged the media to present statements in full context, arguing that selective highlights often lead to memes and controversy.
He said the Chief Minister should answer these questions upon returning, adding that if the visit was personal there would be nothing to comment on, but if it was for investment promotion the details must be made public.
