Minister Nirmal Kumar on Saturday said the public would “soon write the conclusion” of the DMK in Tamil Nadu’s political arena, amid a fresh war of words between the ruling side and the opposition.

His remarks came as DMK cadres continued protests over Chief Minister Vijay’s comments and gestures in the Assembly related to DMK leader M.K. Stalin’s detention during the MISA period. A protest held at Saidapet drew controversy after DMK MP Raja allegedly used derogatory language against the Chief Minister and made offensive comments about Nirmal Kumar.

In a statement, the minister condemned what he described as an “obscene drama” staged in the name of protest, claiming it had shocked women. He alleged that when questions are raised at the DMK about corruption, betrayal and falsehood, the party responds with violence or vulgar speech.

Nirmal Kumar also challenged Stalin to say whether such remarks could be shown to women and children in the speakers’ own homes, and said political conduct is constantly scrutinised by the public. He added that his side would face the DMK’s actions “honestly” and reiterated that people would soon deliver their verdict against the party.
