Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s recent power shortage has been rectified, Minister Nirmal Kumar said on Saturday.

According to the minister, an interruption in wind power generation led to a shortage for two days. He added that the situation was not limited to Tamil Nadu and was seen in many other states as well.

The minister said the state purchased the electricity required to meet demand on Friday evening. Since then, uninterrupted power supply has been provided across all areas.

He stated that from Saturday evening onwards, the additional procurement has helped fully address the shortage in Tamil Nadu.
