Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, on an official visit to London to attract new industrial investments, attended the Le Mans Cup car race at the Silverstone Circuit.
Ajith Kumar, a Tamil actor and racing driver, was among the participants, with his team qualifying for the final round. During the visit, London-based Tamils met the Chief Minister, taking selfies and seeking autographs.
At the circuit, Vijay met Ajith, conveyed his wishes for the race and was seen greeting him warmly. The Chief Minister then flagged off the Le Mans Cup race and also posed for photographs near Ajith’s car.
With the Tamil Nadu government having announced a motor sports city plan, Vijay is set to tour the Silverstone facility to learn about track design, safety systems and best practices for operating such venues effectively and commercially.
In the race, Ajith Kumar’s team secured third place. A total of 44 teams took part in the event.
