BJP national president Nitin Nabin has appealed to people across the country to light an ‘Aashirvaad Deep’ in their homes on September 17, between 6 pm and 7 pm, to pray for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long life and good health.
The appeal comes ahead of the Prime Minister’s birthday and to mark what the party described as the completion of 25 years of his public life. The BJP has also planned a month-long campaign of public welfare activities from September 17 to October 17.
In a video message, Nabin said serving people is akin to serving the nation, describing it as a guiding principle of Modi’s life. He also highlighted Modi’s political journey as being dedicated to public service and nation-building.
Nabin said the Prime Minister’s leadership has opened new opportunities and strengthened the country, adding that India is moving towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He urged citizens to participate by lighting the lamp and offering their blessings on September 17.
The party said preparations for the month-long programme are under way.
