New Delhi hosted a rare interaction between Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the West Asia region remains under intense conflict. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the BRICS summit held in the Indian capital.
According to the report, the war involving the United States and Iran has continued for more than six months. Iran has also been carrying out attacks targeting US military bases located in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other countries.
During the summit, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed. Iran’s embassy confirmed the meeting and released a photograph.
The development has drawn international attention, especially as the UAE side was not represented during earlier talks held in Islamabad in April involving Iranian officials and the US along with regional partners. The report says both sides agreed to engage after India’s central government encouraged a conciliatory approach.
