Minister Ramesh, speaking in Tiruchirappalli, accused the DMK of repeatedly using obscene, defamatory and derogatory language in political discourse.
In an interview, he said that even if the “rain stops, the drizzle continues,” claiming that irregularities from the previous regime are still being felt. He added that his government is working to correct past lapses and would “change everything” over time.
Ramesh alleged that DMK leaders and functionaries have been making obscene remarks about ministers and chief ministers. He said strict action would be taken if obscene comments are made against women.
He also accused opposition leader Udhayanidhi of using double-meaning and obscene language. Ramesh said there was no need to respond to those who “sit at home and do politics,” and added that steps are being taken to reduce crimes against women.
Taking a swipe at former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for criticising the current administration, he asked what Palaniswami had done over the past five years.
