The Madras High Court has granted time to DMK leader M K Stalin to file his response in a civil suit filed by Minister Aadav seeking Rs 1 crore as damages.

The case stems from social media posts by the DMK IT Wing and Stalin that allegedly linked a person arrested in a narcotics case, John Britto, as a relative of Minister Aadav. Aadav has maintained that the arrested person is not his relative.

Following the posts, the minister moved the High Court against Stalin, seeking compensation for alleged reputational harm. The matter was heard by Justice Govindarajan Thilagavathi.

The court directed Stalin and the DMK Information Technology Wing to file their replies to the minister’s petition. Senior advocate Wilson, appearing for Stalin, sought time to submit the counter.

Accepting the request, the judge granted time until September 21 and adjourned the hearing to that date.
