Two SpiceJet flights scheduled to fly from Delhi to Dubai—SG 5111 and SG 5105—faced prolonged delays, leaving passengers stranded at the airport.
According to reports, the departures were pushed back repeatedly and were delayed by more than 29 hours. The airline cited aircraft-related issues, with timings being revised multiple times.
As the disruption continued, over 200 passengers staged a sit-in protest inside the airport premises. They alleged that proper arrangements for food and accommodation were not provided and demanded refunds of their fares.
With airline staff reportedly not present at the spot, airport personnel intervened and helped make necessary arrangements for the affected travellers.
In a statement, SpiceJet said the delays were due to technical glitches and expressed regret. The airline added that alternative flight arrangements were being worked out and that further updates would be announced soon.
