An IndiGo flight operating from Agartala to Lucknow made an emergency landing at Lucknow airport after a smoke warning was triggered while the aircraft was in the air.

The flight was carrying 103 passengers and six crew members. According to reports, an alert sounded indicating possible smoke in the baggage/cargo compartment.

Following the warning, the aircraft was immediately diverted back to Lucknow. Fire and emergency response teams, along with medical personnel, were kept on standby at the airport as the flight landed.

All passengers and crew were safely deplaned. A technical team later inspected the cargo area, and preliminary checks did not find any signs of smoke.

Engineers are continuing to examine why the warning alarm was activated despite no initial evidence of smoke.
