New Delhi: The Union government has summoned a Pakistani diplomatic official after a Pakistani Navy ship collided with an Indian Navy vessel in international waters.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said the Indian Navy ship was on patrol duty when the incident occurred. Officials said there was no major damage reported.
India said the Pakistani Navy’s action was inconsistent with the 1991 agreement between the two countries on prior notification of military exercises and troop movements, citing a violation of its Clause 10.
The government conveyed its condemnation to the Pakistani side and asked Pakistan to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
