Anbumani Ramadoss has questioned why the Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP continues to remain sluggish, arguing that the party has not yet found an energetic and effective leadership.

He said the state leadership has not been able to swiftly and smartly explain the Central government’s welfare schemes in a convincing manner to ordinary people. According to him, this communication gap has weakened the party’s public outreach.

Anbumani also criticised what he described as a culture of politics focused more on appearances—posing for photographs and giving interviews—rather than sustained groundwork and public engagement.

In the same set of remarks, he urged people to cooperate with governments on development-oriented projects instead of blocking them with objections such as livelihood concerns or claims over land.

He further made political observations about other leaders, including praising Kanimozhi as a cultured and humane politician, and warning that leaders who do not move beyond old-style politics could face setbacks.
