Ministers Sengottaiyan and Arunraj on Tuesday alleged that the DMK and AIADMK had maintained a “secret understanding” over the years and misled the people of Tamil Nadu. They made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Dharapuram.

The ministers said that for decades many believed a corruption-free administration was not possible, but claimed the current TAVEK government was proving otherwise. They also asserted that the state was seeing a people-centric model of governance for the first time.

According to them, long-term plans are being prepared with the next generation in mind. They said some voters did not support TAVEK in the Assembly election due to lingering doubts, but expressed confidence of securing a “historic” victory in the Dharapuram and Maduranthakam by-elections.

They further claimed that while DMK and AIADMK projected themselves as rivals and alternated in power, the public had been expecting real change. The ministers alleged that both parties had, in reality, worked with an understanding and deceived the public.

The ministers reiterated that their administration would continue to focus on governance centred on people and long-term development, and urged voters to back them in the upcoming by-elections.
