Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said global confidence in India is increasing, pointing to the country’s economic growth and recent infrastructure additions.

Speaking after inaugurating the Semicon conference at the Yashobhoomi convention centre in Delhi, Modi said the last 15 days offer a clear sense of the direction and pace at which India is moving forward.

He highlighted that a dedicated 3,000-km freight railway network has been opened for use, saying it would accelerate momentum across the country, strengthen logistics and provide fresh impetus to manufacturing.

Modi noted that this was the fifth Semicon conference being held in India and extended greetings to participants, including international delegates. Marking Vishwakarma Jayanti, he also conveyed wishes to the public and said the PM Vishwakarma scheme was launched on the occasion.

He said India is drawing strength from both its centuries-old tradition of construction and the policies and technology of the 21st century, aligning with the goal of a self-reliant and developed India.
