A tense situation unfolded at the Nanjappa Corporation Higher Secondary School in Tiruppur after a group of Plus Two students allegedly assaulted the headmaster inside his office.
According to information available, headmaster Karnal (54) was in his room on Tuesday, questioning students who had not been attending classes regularly and had come directly for examinations. During the discussion, seven Class 12 students reportedly entered the office and attacked him.
Hearing the commotion, a teacher from a nearby classroom rushed in, after which the students fled the spot. The injured headmaster was taken to the Kallampalayam Corporation Primary Health Centre, where he received first aid. Reports said he suffered facial injuries and his shirt was stained with blood.
Police later questioned the headmaster and conducted inquiries at the school, including questioning some Plus Two students individually. Officers are also examining CCTV footage.
