Chennai: Dairy Development Minister Vijayalakshmi has instructed Aavin officials to take immediate steps to resolve the increasing shortage of Aavin milk.
The direction was issued during a review meeting held at the Aavin headquarters in Nandanam, chaired by the minister. Aavin Managing Director Sivarasu and other officials attended the meeting.
At the event, the minister also handed over appointment orders to 14 candidates selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for roles in Aavin.
In her address, Vijayalakshmi stressed that payments to milk producers should be made without pending dues through electronic services. She asked officials to ensure that procurement incentives reach producers and that quality testing is carried out at the point of purchase, with an acknowledgement slip issued.
She further called for speeding up artificial insemination and livestock insurance, ensuring uninterrupted supply of cattle feed, and increasing milk procurement and sales. The minister warned that if sale of other companies’ products is found in Aavin outlets, appropriate action should be taken against those responsible.
