A man with multiple criminal cases pending was attacked in Madurai on Friday morning, triggering a police investigation.
The victim has been identified as Saravanan (50), a resident of Solai Azhagupuram’s Sappani Temple Street area. According to the report, he had recently come out on bail.
Sources said an unidentified gang had been closely monitoring Saravanan’s movements on a daily basis. On the day of the incident, when he went to a tea shop in the morning, five persons allegedly attacked him with weapons.
Further details on the motive and the identities of the attackers are yet to be confirmed. Police are continuing inquiries based on the available information.
