Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said India’s free trade agreements with various countries are helping create new employment opportunities for the youth.
He made the remarks while issuing appointment letters to 51,000 candidates selected for different Central government departments, through a video conference.
In his address, Modi said the talent and capabilities of India’s youth have earned global confidence, and that the world has high expectations from Indian entrepreneurs and the country’s young workforce. He also noted that the startup ecosystem is expanding beyond major cities to other towns.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, and told the newly recruited employees that they are now part of this journey with the Centre. He urged them to take decisions that strengthen the push towards a developed and self-reliant India.
Modi said India has signed 40 free trade agreements, which he described as opening doors to new opportunities. He added that such deals help entrepreneurs build new partnerships and create fresh career prospects for young Indians.
