Farmers in Samayapuram near Tiruchirappalli continued their agitation for the fifth consecutive day, demanding a complete waiver of crop loans taken through cooperative societies.
The protest has been centred on the call for full loan relief, with farmers insisting that partial measures would not address their concerns.
Ministers Vinoth and Ramesh met the protesting farmers and held discussions to resolve the issue. However, the talks ended without a final decision.
With no clear outcome from the meeting, the farmers said the protest would continue until their demand for a full waiver is addressed.
