India Post has cautioned the public to stay alert against an online fraud circulating under the name “Dak Seva Gifts”, saying the message is misleading and could be used to cheat people.
According to the department, a social media advertisement claims that India Post is running a special gift or reward programme for the public. India Post clarified that this claim is a rumour and has no official backing.
In its statement, the department said it is not operating any such gift, prize, or lottery scheme. It urged citizens not to trust the viral promotion.
India Post also advised customers and the public not to click on suspicious links related to the message. It warned people not to share confidential information such as bank account details, OTPs, or Aadhaar numbers with anyone.
