Veteran actress Radha has filed a complaint at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office alleging an attempted financial fraud involving her sister, actress Ambika, and their brother Mallikarjuna Kunchan.
In her complaint, Radha said she runs a business named ARS Garden in Porur, Chennai. She stated that when she travelled out of town for work, she would keep a few signed cheques in her room for emergency use.
Radha said the business name was changed to RR Garden in 2025 and the IDBI Bank handling the business account was informed. Following this, she received a new cheque book and the earlier cheque book became unused.
According to Radha, she received an email from the bank on September 17 stating that five cheques from the old, unused cheque book had been deposited for encashment, totalling around ₹46 crore, in Ambika’s name. She said she immediately asked the bank to stop the transaction.
Radha further alleged that her brother had filled in the cheques and that he already has a pending “Pema” case. She claimed Ambika, who stays on the ground floor of her Valasaravakkam residence, and their brother entered her upstairs portion in her absence, stole the cheques and attempted the fraud, and she sought legal action against them.
