Gold prices continued to decline in Chennai on Tuesday (Sept 22), reflecting ongoing volatility linked to international market trends.
According to the latest rates, 22-carat jewellery gold fell by Rs 680 per sovereign to Rs 1,13,480. The per-gram price dropped by Rs 85 to Rs 14,185.
The fall comes after recent fluctuations in Tamil Nadu. On Saturday (Sept 19), 22-carat jewellery gold was sold at Rs 14,285 per gram and Rs 1,14,280 per sovereign.
Silver was quoted at Rs 260 per gram. The gold market remained closed on Sunday (Sept 20), and jewellery sales were reported at the previous day’s rates.
With Tuesday’s decline, the cumulative fall over the last two days stands at Rs 800 per sovereign.
