Chennai: Tamil Nadu has reported 17,277 dengue infections so far, as the number of cases continues to rise across the state, according to the Health Department.
Officials said more than 200 dengue cases are being confirmed every day. On Sunday, 228 new cases were recorded, including 79 in Chennai.
The department also reported 29 confirmed cases of tick fever. State-level reviews are being conducted regularly to track district-wise dengue and fever cases, identify hotspots and mosquito breeding sites, and monitor mosquito-control measures, including the availability of fogging equipment.
Chief Minister Vijay has instructed officials to ensure government hospitals and primary health centres remain prepared to detect dengue early and prevent further spread. The state government is continuing multiple steps to curb transmission.
