Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay said organ donation offers renewed hope and a new life to many people waiting for transplant treatment.
In a statement marking Tamil Nadu Organ Donation Day, observed every year on September 23, he said the day is meant to build public awareness about the importance of organ donation.
He also recalled the organ donation of a young boy, Hithendran, which is commemorated as part of the annual observance.
The Chief Minister described organ donation as a profound humanitarian act, noting that even after a person’s death, their organs can help others begin life anew.
He called on people to remember and honour organ donors who, he said, carry the flame of compassion and guide the way for the renewed lives of others.
