Washington: US President Donald Trump has recently revoked press credentials for reporters from certain television news organisations, including CNN, MSNBC and Politico. The White House said the move was prompted by what it described as deliberately negative coverage.
Following the restrictions, the barred news outlets announced that they would temporarily stop broadcasting video coverage of events in which the President participates.
Major print media and photojournalism news agencies also expressed support for the decision by the affected outlets. They, too, said they would temporarily halt coverage of the President’s events.
Amid this standoff, the White House launched a new channel titled “Trump TV”. The channel began airing programmes related to the President and his engagements.
