Speaker Prabhakar on Tuesday said the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly’s Oath Committee must closely monitor whether assurances given by ministers on the floor of the House are implemented within the stipulated time.
Inaugurating a meeting of the committee at the MLAs’ hostel campus in Omandurar Government Estate, Chennai, he said the panel should submit reports to the Assembly on assurances that remain unfulfilled.
The Speaker asked the committee to conduct its review work in a neutral manner, in line with Assembly procedures, and with a constructive approach.
He added that the Oath Committee should function as a bridge between the Legislative Assembly and the government administration.
The meeting was chaired by committee chairman Vijay Saravanan, MLA.
