Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the country’s youth would be the backbone of a developed India, during a video conference interaction with participants of the BJP’s “Seva Sankalp Yatra”.
The outreach is part of the “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” being held from September 17 to October 17 to mark Modi’s 25 years in public life. As part of the campaign, BJP workers are undertaking a yatra from Vadnagar in Gujarat—Modi’s birthplace—to Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing the group, Modi said the team’s spirit of service and efforts were inspiring. He also noted that both Vadnagar and Varanasi are ancient cities with histories spanning about a thousand years, making the journey personally significant for him.
Modi said welfare initiatives such as the Ayushman Yojana are driven by selfless service. He added that the central aim is nation-building and that India is moving towards the “Viksit Bharat” goal, with youth playing a key role in realising the dream of a developed India by 2047.
