India added another medal to its Asian Games campaign on Friday, with distance runner Kulvir Singh clinching silver in the men’s 10,000m event in Aichi–Nagoya.
Kulvir clocked 28:29.38 to finish second, delivering India’s ninth silver medal of the Games.
India also picked up bronze medals in multiple events. Manpreet Kaur won bronze in the women’s shot put, while the table tennis mixed doubles pair of Manush Shah and Diya Chitale also secured bronze.
In women’s pole vault, Tamil Nadu’s Baranika Ilangovan claimed bronze, marking India’s first-ever medal in the pole vault category.
With these results, India’s medal tally stands at 23 — including 2 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze — placing the country 12th on the medal table.
