West Indies put up a solid batting effort against India in the first ODI at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
India captain Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first. West Indies opened with Campbell and Greaves, and the pair gave the visitors a brisk start with confident strokeplay.
Campbell scored 62 before falling to Kuldeep’s spin with the team total at 135. Soon after, Carty was dismissed for 13 by pacer Prasidh Krishna.
Kuldeep then struck again as Hope (12), Greaves (101) and Andrew (0) were removed. At the end of 43 overs, West Indies were 243 for 5 and continuing to build their innings.
