Minister’s remarks in Madurai
Minister Nirmal Kumar on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the DMK and its leader Udhayanidhi while speaking to reporters in Madurai. He alleged that Udhayanidhi was speaking “without restraint” even during daytime and described his comments as highly inappropriate.
Allegations against DMK and questions on support
The minister claimed that obscene language reflected Udhayanidhi’s mindset and argued that such speech raised doubts about whether women would support or join the DMK. He also questioned the party’s prospects if such remarks continued.

Nirmal Kumar referred to a campaign setting where, he said, a woman candidate was standing behind during the speech, and criticised Udhayanidhi for continuing with objectionable remarks despite the situation.
Other political comments
He further alleged that the family was concerned only about power, authority and money, and made a remark about exemptions in RTI for certain law-and-order cases. He also said that Chief Minister Vijay would inaugurate the “Thangamothiram” scheme the next day.
