A man has been arrested in connection with the killing of his father near Cumbum in Theni district, police said.
The incident was reported from Karunakkamuthanpatti, Water Tank Street. The victim was identified as Muthumayan, a local resident.
Police said the accused is his son, Ganesan. He had been living separately from his wife and was staying in the same house as his father.
Following the incident, police took Ganesan into custody and have begun questioning him. Further details are expected as the inquiry progresses.
