Chennai: Agriculture Minister Vinoth has issued a sharp response to opposition leader Udhayanidhi, accusing him of making defamatory remarks about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay.
The minister’s reaction came after Udhayanidhi, while campaigning for DMK candidate Suganya in the Dharapuram by-election, spoke at Nathapalayam and Mulanur and strongly criticised the Chief Minister.
In a statement, Vinoth said repeated attacks on the Chief Minister would only push people away from Udhayanidhi. He also cautioned against assuming that criticism alone could sway public opinion.
Vinoth added that the public is watching closely and that voters would deliver an appropriate reply through the ballot. He said no one can alter the verdict of the people of Tamil Nadu.
