A three-year-old girl died in Haryana’s Faridabad after she fell into a 200-foot-deep borewell, according to officials.
The incident occurred around 6 pm on September 27, when the child was playing on a tractor parked near the borewell and slipped in.
Authorities said the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was alerted at about 7.45 pm and reached the spot by 9.05 pm. Rescue efforts were carried out jointly by state rescue teams, police and the fire department.
After nearly 10 hours, the girl was pulled out at around 3.50 am on September 28 and rushed for medical care. Doctors later confirmed that she died despite treatment.
The death has left the child’s family and relatives in grief, even as the rescue team managed to bring her out alive after the prolonged operation.
