The India Meteorological Department’s Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has issued an alert indicating the possibility of heavy rain over the next three days.
In its latest bulletin, the centre said a deep low-pressure area that prevailed over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining Myanmar coastal waters on Saturday is moving in a north to northwest direction.
Based on this system, the IMD has flagged heavy rainfall warnings and advised the public to check whether their area features in the warning list.
