Residents of Tiruppur district have said the accident insurance provided through Dinamalar’s subscription programme offered crucial financial support during medical emergencies.
Nalini (31), who works in the administration wing of a garment manufacturing unit, said she and her daughter fell from a two-wheeler after a dog suddenly crossed their path. She suffered serious injuries to her face and hands and underwent treatment at a hospital in Tiruppur.
As a subscriber, she contacted Dinamalar staff for guidance to claim the United Insurance-linked benefit. With their support, she received Rs 37,000, which she said helped ease the financial strain of treatment.
Pushpavalli from the Pongalur area said she and her husband Sundaram (77) were injured when their two-wheeler was hit by an oncoming bike. They were admitted to a hospital in Coimbatore, where her husband later died despite intensive care. She said the family received an insurance payout of Rs 5 lakh through the subscription coverage.
Bhaskaran (30) from Kanakkampalayam said he fractured his left arm in three places after falling from his two-wheeler when a dog crossed the road. After surgery at a private hospital in Perumanallur, he received Rs 67,000 credited to his bank account within 10 days of completing treatment, calling it unexpected and timely help.
