The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has issued summons to former DMK minister Velu and his son Kumaran in connection with an alleged illegal soil removal case.
According to DVAC officials, a case has been registered alleging that soil was unlawfully excavated from Malappambadi lake in Tiruvannamalai district.
Investigators have claimed the alleged activity caused a loss of Rs 8.22 crore to the government.
DVAC said the summons require both Velu and Kumaran to appear in person and provide their explanation as part of the inquiry.
