Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced the launch of a new company called Meta Enterprise, aimed at supporting trade and business organisations.
In a statement, Zuckerberg said the company believes “super intelligence” can create major opportunities for people and businesses. He noted that Meta already helps millions of people, and that many businesses have benefited from Meta platforms to reach customers.
The new initiative will focus on helping enterprises grow by using artificial intelligence, he said, positioning Meta Enterprise as a dedicated effort for business adoption of AI.
Zuckerberg also announced that Chitrangan Desai, an Indian executive, will serve as chairman of Meta Enterprise and will report directly to him.
Desai has experience across AI, infrastructure, business applications and security. He is currently the CEO and chairman of MongoDB, and previously led product and engineering at Cloudflare, besides spending eight years at ServiceNow, where he also served as president.
