Minister Sengottaiyan, speaking during bypoll campaigning in Dharapuram, launched a sharp attack on Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), alleging that repeated “betrayals” had contributed to the AIADMK’s decline.
He said EPS had removed him from the party and remarked that the decision ultimately worked in his favour. “It was good he expelled me; today I have become a minister. I escaped,” he told the gathering.
Sengottaiyan also credited TVK leader Vijay for elevating him, saying Vijay “lifted him up” and made him a minister. He described TVK as a movement that stands by those who place their trust in it, and urged supporters not to fear attempts to restrain them.
During the speech, he made a series of promises, including that within a year, 25 lakh people in Tamil Nadu would be issued pattas, and that beneficiaries would get land and a house within Rs 5 lakh. He called on voters to create a “history” by ensuring a victory margin of one lakh votes for TVK in the Dharapuram constituency.
