India enjoyed a strong day at the Asian Games on Sept 30, adding four gold medals to its haul as multiple events delivered podium finishes.
In compound archery, India struck gold in the mixed team event through Sahil Jadhav and Chikita Taniparthi. India also topped the podium in both the women’s and men’s team categories.
The Indian women’s compound team—Chikita Taniparthi, Prithika Pradeep and Jyothi Surekha—defeated China 238-234 in the final to clinch the title.
In shooting, Neeru and Gyan Senai won gold in the trap mixed team event. Neeru had already secured gold earlier in the trap individual event.
In boxing, Priya Gangas claimed bronze in the 60 kg category. With these results, India moved up to seventh in the medal table with 58 medals: 10 gold, 21 silver and 27 bronze.
