Chennai: Reports suggest Chief Minister Vijay has given his nod to include PMK MLA Saumya in the T.Ve.K-led cabinet.
The current ministry under Vijay already includes representatives from Congress, VCK and the Muslim League. Sources indicate a cabinet reshuffle is being considered after the by-elections in Madurantakam and Dharapuram.
As part of the expected changes, some T.Ve.K ministers may be dropped and a few portfolios could be reassigned. Parallelly, discussions are said to be underway to bring the PMK into the ruling alliance.
According to the reports, Saumya could be allotted one among the School Education, Environment or Forest portfolios. However, with the bypoll outcome expected to influence the political equation, the PMK leadership is said to be waiting without making any formal announcement.
