At an election campaign meeting in Dharapuram, Chief Minister Vijay sought votes by listing the election promises announced and implemented by the TAVEK government.
Observers noted a change in tone compared to his earlier campaign speeches, where he frequently trained his fire on rival parties such as the DMK and AIADMK and their allies. In previous bypoll campaigning, he had sharply criticised both parties.
In Dharapuram, however, he focused on governance claims—going point by point on what the government had promised since taking office and what it says it has delivered so far.
He also raised long-pending local concerns, including drinking water scarcity in the region, patta-related issues, and the absence of a combined drinking water scheme. The Chief Minister said his government understands people’s basic needs, aiming to connect with voters on everyday problems.
