Asian Games competitions are currently under way in Japan, with athletes from Tamil Nadu delivering notable performances.
In the women’s 4x400 metres relay, the Indian team that included Tamil Nadu runner Vithya Ramraj clinched the gold medal.
Following the victory, Chief Minister Vijay announced an incentive of ₹75 lakh for Vithya in recognition of her achievement.
The announcement was made as part of acknowledgements for Tamil athletes who have excelled at the Asian Games.
