Chief Minister Vijay visited the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai on September 28, during his trip to launch the “Thaymaman Thangamothiram” scheme. He spent about half an hour in darshan and performed archana in his name and in the name of his family.

According to the report, temple priests briefed him on the temple’s significance as he walked through the complex. Vijay reportedly told them he felt a personal attraction towards the goddess and that it was his first visit, and he asked with interest about the goddess’s incarnation.

The priests, who were said to be aware of his star (Poosam) and zodiac sign (Cancer), asked in whose name the archana should be performed. Vijay is reported to have replied, “Vijay and family,” after which the archana was conducted.

While official photos and videos of the Chief Minister’s worship have not been released, a video clip showing him walking near the Mukkuruni Vinayagar shrine was shared on social media by some party members. After visiting the sanctums, he is said to have offered a full prostration near the flagstaff before leaving.

The report also notes that some devotees and party members drew comparisons with Thirumalai Nayakkar—citing the same zodiac sign and star—and praised the visit as significant.
