India sealed the three-match ODI series against West Indies with a commanding eight-wicket victory in the second match at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

West Indies, sent in to bat, got a strong start through openers John Campbell and Carty. Campbell struck a century (101), while captain Shai Hope also reached three figures with 104, taking the visitors to 405 for 7 in 50 overs.

For India, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Brar picked up two wickets each. India also handed a debut to Kashmir pacer Avkhip Nabi, who came in for all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.

In reply, India’s openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill set the tone with an attacking stand. Rohit scored 101 off 75 balls, including six sixes and 10 fours, before getting out.

Gill stayed unbeaten and finished with a remarkable 223 off 133 balls, with Ruturaj Gaikwad unbeaten on 31, as India reached 406 for 2 in 43.3 overs. The win gave India an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
